Characteristics

Octase has two major characteristics.
The first is that its ability to break down blood, which is a protein, is world-class.
The second is that whereas an enzyme reacts with hydrolysis, and has the characteristic of activity levels that decrease within a short period of time from the beginning of the reaction, in the case of Octase these activity levels are maintained for a long period and breakdown capacity is preserved.
This is a rare capability at the global level.

Origin and Principles

Octase is a special cleaning fluid composed of a protease, a lipolytic enzyme and other constituents; however, our research originated not in enzymes but in microbes.
Microbes are capable of breaking down various types of matter because they are basically all composed of enzymes, and this became the starting point of our development of Octase. For example, if you introduce microbes into a tank of tropical fish, the water quality is preserved and maintained in a pure state as the microbes - that is to say, the enzymes within them - break down the fish’s excrement. Because the enzymes break down the excrement at the molecular level, a comfortable environment for the fish can be maintained.
On a larger scale, the same can be said of the global environment. Our research into enzymes began from the phenomenon of a fish tank which can maintain water quality over a long period without using a filter.

Origin and Principles

Motivation
for Development

Three issues arose in medical practice.
The most serious was that the caustic soda used to clean medical equipment is extremely hazardous.
The second was that, if accidentally swallowed, caustic soda is extremely poisonous.
The third was that legal restrictions make the disposal of caustic soda extremely difficult. Here, the major task of our development was the necessity of making a product with cleaning capacity which could replace caustic soda.
At the same time, it had to be safe with regard to human health and the environment.
We began our work with the intention of resolving these three problems.

Motivation for Development

Scope of Application

One of the basic capacities of Octase, within the sphere of the breakdown of proteins and fats, is related to food processing; in other words, restaurants and machinery used for food processing.
We believe that Octase can be applied to the entire food industry.
The second application is blades. When cutting, proteins and fats inevitably cling to the blade and it becomes dulled over time. The use of Octase will return it to its original sharpness.
Another field that shows great promise is oral care in the context of care of the elderly. For example, if Octase is used to clean false teeth or the often-ignored toothbrush, fast-acting, easy and comprehensive cleansing is possible.
Overall, we feel it can contribute to various hygiene management issues in care of the elderly.
